Cochin (Kochi)
Cochin is one of the largest cities in Kerala and has traditionally been a port city of strategic importance. While Cochin has a lot to offer tourists, it also acts as a gateway to the rest of Kerala and often plays the role of a 'Base Camp' as it provides easy access to the rest of the state. The City is a historian's delight and some of the must-see places include the Dutch Palace, Portuguese fort, St. Francis' Church, Pradeshi Synagogue, ancient Chinese fishing nets (yes, there is an unbelievable story behind this!) on the shores and Thampuram Museum. Cochin also has several places of interest within a short distance from the city. The more time you spend here, the better!
